How can I have the perfect peace of a silent mind? How can I free myself of mind chatter and mental clutter?
With our daily lives filled with countless external inputs: smart phones, tablets, personal computers, television, constant barrages of advertising, even the traffic noise, and pollution. It all takes a toll on our state of mind.
Mind chatter, however can be our self-doubt, questioning ones value and place in this world. I am seeking a perfect peace, and a silent mind. Is that really even possible? Numerous monastic adherents from around the globe would say the answer is "yes."
But how can I really do this? It takes baby steps. Watch a baby learning to walk and they giggle, smile, have fun, but still always fall on their bottom, over and over again. Adults, we fear so much in our external environment. In that, we fear what others think of us, what they might see, or how they view us. Sometimes it can be a maximum security prison of our own construction.
Start small. Methods and techniques can be as varied as the world’s cultures and people, but taking time to calm one’s mind, taking time to remove some of the many inputs that clutter our mind, and taking time to do positive things.
Make your mantra for today this: I will be bright and optimistic. Repeat it over and over as you follow your morning routine. There are always positive benefits in trying. TRY!
And get out there, enjoy your day, calm your mind, and be bright with optimism.
